John Hemmerling
John was born and raised in British Columbia. He attended the University of British Columbia where he obtained a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1987 and his Law Degree in 1990. He was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1991 and practiced civil litigation in Vancouver until he relocated to Kelowna in 1998.
John is a veteran litigator and has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia. He has conducted numerous complex personal injury trials and is very seasoned in presenting complex cases to juries. John’s decades long experience has given him a deep knowledge of the laws governing personal injury in British Columbia.
Dana Graves
Dana was born and raised in Manitoba. He earned his Bachelor of Arts and Law Degree at the University of Manitoba. He has been practicing as a lawyer in British Columbia since 1993. Dana has worked in many different legal settings, from one or two person offices to large Vancouver litigation firms. These different working environments have added to the experience Dana brings to each case. He has been working with Hemmerling and Associates since 2009.
Dana has appeared before all levels of Court in British Columbia. He has successfully argued Supreme Court Judge Alone Trials, Supreme Court Jury Trials and matters before the British Columbia Court of Appeal. While seeking all reasonable opportunities to resolve claims short of Trial, Dana realizes that to obtain a fair settlement, each case has to be prepared to be argued at Trial.
When not working, Dana can be found at the hockey rink or on the golf course. Dana has resided in South East Kelowna since 2005. He has been a director on various not-for-profit societies in Kelowna including the Kelowna Child Care Society and East Kelowna Community Hall Association.
Michael Prah
Michael was born and raised in Kelowna, British Columbia. He attended Okanagan College where he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, graduating with distinction and a major in accounting. Following undergraduate studies, Michael went on to obtain a Law Degree at the University of British Columbia. He was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2017, and his sole area of practice has been in personal injury litigation.
Michael has appeared in Supreme Court Chambers, pre-trial hearings, and negotiated numerous settlements on behalf of injured victims. Michael is proud to be providing legal services in his hometown and eager to continue developing his civil litigation practice. Micheal has been focusing his practice in the areas of condominium and strata law and estate litigation.
When not in the office, Michael can likely be found on one of the many golf courses the Okanagan has to offer and is a member at a local course. He has also played hockey throughout his life and continues to play recreationally.
